Training Times

Morwell Swimming Club training programs run every weekday evening at Latrobe Leisure Morwell, McDonald Street. All Swimmers will be assessed by our coaches according to swimming ability and guided towards sessions which will best suit their skills and knowledge.

Our coaches are Geoff Peterson (Head Coach), who is assisted by Melissa Scholes and Alan Godfrey.

New members, please fill in the Pre-Membership Form on your first night. Pool entry is payable at front reception per session. Please be sure to advise our coaches that you are a new starter on your first night.

 

Junior Dolphins Program - Monday 5:00pm-6:00pm

Designed primarily for children between the ages of 5-8, who are interested in transitioning from learn to swim programs to swimming club.

 

Development Squad - Monday 6:00pm-7:00pm

Designed for swimmers who are not yet competent in all four strokes, and are working towards either our Junior or Intermediate Club Squads.

 

Junior Club Squad - Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 5:00pm-6:00pm

Designed for swimmers who are competent in all four strokes, focusing on improving technique, speed and race skills.

 

Intermediate Club Squad - Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 6:00pm-7:30pm

Designed for swimmers aiming towards Country Qualifying times and above.

 

Skills Session - Friday 5:00pm till pool close

 

 

Club Membership

Club membership fees cover the cost of club coaching services. The following club fees apply for the 2018/2019 season:

Junior Dolphin Program $260
First Family Member $350,
Second Family Member $320,
Third Family Member $290,
Non-training Competitor $120.
New swimmers can trial training sessions free for the first two weeks and then will need to pay both club and state membership fees.

State Membership

All swimmers, coaches and committee members must register for Swimming Victoria membership each year in order to be covered by insurance for training and participation in competitions. Memberships commence on the 1st of July each year and expire on the 30th of June the following year. This cost is not covered by the club fees. The following swimming Victoria fees apply for the 2018/2019 season:

• Competitor: (FULL membership) $120

• Recreational Swimmer: (trains but does not compete) $107

• Parents/Committee Members: $37

• Accredited NOP TechnicaL Officials: $22
